Will I get two periods?

I just started taking birth control pills for the first time this month on the 5th the lady said they wouldn't start working for at least 2 weeks and I think she said I would get my normal period when I get it but I will also get a period form my birth control? Will I get two periods this month? I'm supposed to be getting my period soon but then I still have a week and a half until I take my period pills will I get a period then too?
