Would you stay on the medication

I'm Bi-Polar and I'm on a mood stabilizer. This drug has been scientifically proven to cause possible Cleft Lip - Cleft Pallet and other possible deformities because it depletes folic acid. However, it hasn't been proven that if you take PNV to replace the folic acid the risk decreases. I've spoken with my psychiatrist and she says its up to me and my fiancé. She's not swaying either direction.
