Is there carseat in the middle seat of by the door?

I wish I could answer both. When I had just 1 he was in the center until we switched him forward facing at 3.5yo then he went to drivers side. With 2 in a tiny Toyota Yaris they will each have to be by a door but i wish they didn't have to be.

Its actually not safer for some cars. In mine she's in the middle but in my aunts car the manual specifically said not to place them in the middle. :P I go by the car manual suggestion.

For my car the safest place is on the back by the door not the middle. It differs from car to car x

Middle! It is statistically the safest place, followed by the rear passenger side.
