Slightly sad and discouraged

So last night my fiance and I decided to take a pregnancy test because of myself being 3days late on my period. While have been TTC for over a 1yr now the test shown us a positive yet with a faint line though. A few or so hour after the first one we decided for a second test to reassure our selves. Sadly this time it Read negative, I'm not sure what were doing wrong to get pregnant. And to make matters worse for me my period began this morning slight different flow from normal but same terribly intense cramps as normal. I don't know what to do, I feel so discourage after trying for this long and have no luck to start our beautiful blended family.:(
