Cystic fibrosis
I had my initial OB apt last week at 9 weeks. Everything went well, US looked normal and heart rate was 184. I had a TON of blood work done & yesterday, my dr called and told me that my labs showed I'm a carrier for cystic fibrosis.. so if my husband is also a carrier, our baby will have a 25% change of being born with cf. Apparently 1 out of every 29 Caucasians is a carrier. Needless to say, my husband got tested and we are anxiously awaiting the results. Any other moms out there going through this same thing??? I'm a wreck!
