Does it hurt getting your water broke?

I'm a first time mommy and was wanting to know if it hurts getting your water broke? 
I'm getting my water broke Tuesday & I'm a bit nervous.

For me, it hurt for about one second when my doctor hooked the membrane. Once she pulled and it was open, it felt SO good. It relieved so much pressure. It didn't last long because my contractions began about 30 seconds later, but it was so worth it. It did NOT hurt for long at all and it didn't hurt enough for me to not recommend it. Good luck!!!!!

I felt nothing but I got mine broke like 30 minutes after my epidural. I was still feeling some contractions but barely. Kinda glad I didn't get my water broken before the epi because I was at 8cm when I got my epi. When they broke my water, I dilated to 10 right away & my son was born like 15-20 minutes later. Was only in labor 5 hours and only 4 of that was spent at the hospital, first hour at home and on the ride there.
