When did you go to a fertility specialist?

We will be going on our 5th month of this month didn't work. I know they say a year but I honestly don't want to wait that long. Just looking for some advice/experienced input. I saw my Gyno 3 weeks ago and she said everything looks good and we have a good chance

I waited a year. If you are over 35, 6 months is recommended. Has your DH undergone a seven analysis? If that comes back with poor results, I would get to a specialist sooner.

We went to the doctors after a year of trying as they won't see you until you've been trying for a year. It has taken me a year to get all the tests done as they lost my referral letters and I had to keep harassing them for appoinments! Iv finally made it to the fertilty clinic and they do appoinments every 3 months! I feel like this is gonna take years! X

We waited 10 months before talking to my gyno. All tests turned out normal and we kept trying. Two years later we are still trying and have been through three inseminations and thee IVFs. I would say that you are still very young but if your gyno won't refer you to a reproductive specialist or they won't see you, go elsewhere. They recommend a timeline but that timeline should ultimately be up to you. I would give advice but it is only my opinion. Because you haven't been diagnosed with any problems and are young, wait for 6-9 months and then find a specialist. Trust me when I say, you do NOT want to go through all the testing and drag your body through the brutal treatment if all you need is more time. Good luck!

Waited nearly 4 years because we didn't think anything was wrong. Now a total of 7 years TTC all tests came back fine....still no BFP

Thank you for your answers. I'm 25. My Gyno won't do anything until a year. We haven't done a sperm analysis because my dr said since we conceived before then it shouldn't be an issue

It depends on age...I had my fsh, amh, and estrogen blood work done on cd 3 at my obgyn office..when that came back bad they sent me to fertility dr...
