Dating Permission?

My dad is the cliche overly protective father, and I recently started seeing a guy. Now his parents are pressuring him to talk to my parents about going out with me, but I don't know if my parents will approve. 
Is there any way I can gain more trust from my parents?

It's definitely a good thing for your parents to meet him and his parents. My dad was very old fashioned in that way too. It's not being "over" protective. It's just being protective. And if you talk to your parents about having his family over for dinner, it will show that you're maturing and growing up. They might say yes and then you go from there with baby steps. If you're really interested in this boy, talk to your dad and tell him that you like this kid and want them to meet.

Honestly I think it's good for your  parents to meet  him sometimes other people notice things we don't  and as your mum and dad are older and probably wiser having the insight they could provide would be good.  If you haven't already maybe you should meet his parents also it could be less awkward if all of you go out to dinner or something together to meet one another . I'm a feminist but I think for safety and happiness reasons introducing your friends and parents to someone is a good idea but you need to do what you feel is right as long as no one gets hurt.

It's better to be honest, they will trust you and it could show them how your choosing to make better decisions. I went through this. I had to keep my dating life secret till my graduation and even though I'm glad I'm where I am now. I wish I could've went out on a few dates. Just to know what it would've been like to be a girlfriend without being scared of being grounded. Good luck!
