Tampon time?

So recently I changed over from pads to tampons. I know this sounds ridiculous that I've never worn one until now at the age of 23 but I just had some questions about how many times I should change them. Normally I change them every 2-5 hours depending on the heaviness of my flow but I've heard of girls leaving them in all day and even sleeping in them.

I think th box says 8 hours TOPS. I generally do it every time a pee... so like every 4ish hours. I change it when i pee because if i dont, my pee always gets onto the string and goes up my tampon... and i dont want pee sitting in my uterus... But  I NEVER sleep in them... I sleep in a pad!

I was told you get urine on them (it hits the string, soaks the cotton up into the vaginal opening). So you change them, unfortunately, every time you piss, ideally. That coming from a health science teacher in high school. I'm fairly certain most women don't do that though. I think it would be just like pads, in that you change it depending on the flow.

I wear mine anywhere between 4-8 hours. The heavier days require more changes. I also sleep in mine, I put a new one in right before I fall asleep and then take it out in the morning and wear a pad or pantyliner (depending on flow) while getting ready in the morning to give my vaginal canal a break. When I first started using tampons I was terrified of Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS) but my mom sat me down and had a long talk about it (She's been a paramedic for my entire life lol). I try to not go over 8 hours but sometimes I get busy and forget to change it, mostly on the lighter days.

I barely wear them becuz they make me nauseous and hurt my stomach but when I do wear them I usually have them in around 2-4 hours and then I take them out

I do change then when peeing, but I'm always so dehydrated that it's only twice a day, so I change it two more times on top of when using the bathroom. And I sleep with one in every night on my period, I bought the super plus tampons for the purpose of nighttime wear and my first two days on AF are so heavy.

Sound like your doing the right amount of changes depending on your flow. Yes you can wear them overnight but change it in the morning an wear a larger one at night. And it's pretty easy not to pee on the string.

Yes it is ok to sleep with them in just change it as soon as you wake up
