Infant Car Seat

So I'm having my second baby, due in August. My children will be a little over 3 years apart. I still have my first child's infant car seat. I'm planning on using it for the new baby, but I've been getting negative feedback. Such as, the padding probably worn down or never use a used car seat! But it's never been in a wreck and no recalls so far. Do you guys see any harm in recycling, because I don't!!!
