Do you know your blood type?

My husband recently was in the hospital with the possibility of needing a blood transfusion. I told him in the room while the nurse was there that I would donate my blood for his transfusion since I am O-. He told me he doesnt know what his blood type is... he is 36.. I have known my blood type as long as I have known my social security number..lol..
