Is it OK to date a boy who is younger than you???

I have been friends with this boy since like 2nd grade and he always said he liked me and I always said I liked him but we were really young we are one year apart. Right now I am 13 almost 14 and he is 12 almost 13. He wants to date me but we are worried will get made fun of so I want your opinions!

The age range is fine, however you are both very young. Dating starts so early these days and I'm not trying to tell you what to do but don't feel pressured to date. It's one thing to be friends and go to the movies and hangout with other friends but dating is actually different. Dating is a lot more serious than just being good friends and sadly someone at your age isn't mature enough for a serious relationship. With that said, hanging out and being friends is a good introduction to the dating world. Just remember you are still a child.

People can think what they want. It's okay to date a guy that is younger than you. You guys are still young though. But do as you please and hold off on sex for a while yet because of you guys being so young.
