I do not throw parties myself for a reason...the anxiety of whether people will come or if they are having fun makes me not able to enjoy myself. I had a small wedding (40 people) that was intimate and wonderful, but never had a bridal shower or bachelorette party. It would have been nice to have one but my family and closest friends live out of state and traveled in for the wedding itself. Now a local friend is throwing me a baby shower and I gave her such a small local guest list and am afraid no one will come. It's just burgers and beer, and coed, but I feel a little lame for not having a lot of friends. I'm shy and have acquaintances but not a lot of close friends. And zero family in my state on either of our sides. I don't want to worry about this for six weeks :(
