A negative and no af

So af is three days late with no sign of showing up and af is usually on time, but I've taken a test but all I've gotten is 'negative'. This maybe tmi but Tuesday me and my SO had sex and he said there was a little bit of blood but after that nothing has trickled down.

I know I'm not stressed, so I'm wondering if I took the test too early or should I just give it more time.
