How is a Pelvic Sonogram performed?

I might possibly have PCOS. I've never had a pelvic sonogram done. How do they do it? How is it preformed?

You lie on your back and the ultrasound tech sticks this dildo wand camera into you and it's so weird. But not painful. I just had one about a week ago and i have pcos.

Would that be the one where they kinda take something that looks like a dildo on it and has a camera on the end? If so, I've had to have a couple when I had an ovarian cyst.

I got my results from the sonogram!

My ovaries and uterus look normal! :)

Sounds like a regular ultrasound to me. You'll lie down on a table, pull your pants down a bit, and the tech will smear some goop on your lower abdomen. Then the tech will use a paddle thing to take US images externally. You may also need a transvaginal ultrasound where the tech will insert a dildo looking thing (covered with a condom) into your vaginal to take images internally. Not sure if they'll do external, internal or both. Good luck, hun!
