Painful sex during pregnancy

Has anyone been experiencing painful sex while pregnant? I'm 16 weeks and have been having painful sex for about a month now. Everything is well lubricated, but it's like when he hits a certain point inside me it just hurts so bad. We keep trying but they pain just doesn't go away. He's a little on the bigger side so it's always taken a few minutes for me to get used to it, but lately I just can't. I know they say there's an increase of blood flow so I could be a little swollen. I still have another two weeks before I see my doctor so I was just wondering if anyone else is going through this. It sucks for both of us and I just want us to be able to enjoy sex.
