When to conceive again after a miscarriage?

I had my first pregancy and miscarried on January 31. I was 8 weeks and it was very traumatic for both me and my husband.
I just wondered what advice or experience anyone's had when they have begun trying to conceive again after a miscarriage. My Dr says physically my body is ready as I've had a period since but I've heard mixed stories that you're likely to miscarry again if you fall pregnant too soon. Any feedback from someone who's gone through this would be really appreciated.

I was pregnant again the next cycle! I am now 22 weeks with a healthy baby boy! Sorry for your loss! I know how hard it is!

We lost our baby at 9 weeks a week before Christmas last year. The Dr. told me to wait to try again until I had 3 normal periods...well, I was so off in January and had a normal one in February. I figured that my "calendar" method would be fool proof because I know my body and my cycles and ovulation are always spot on...not last month apparently because the ONE TIME we didn't use protection (one week after supposed ovulation), I just found out last week that I'm due on Thanksgiving. Imagine my surprise. It will happen when the time is right. The trick is not to stress. I'm praying that all goes well with my new pregnancy and deep down, i know it will. I feel more relaxed and excited now. If you are ready now, just go for it. But don't "try"...just go with the flow. :)

So very sorry for your loss. I would say try again when you are EMOTIONALLY ready. It took us 7 months TTC after our loss at 8 weeks a year ago. During that time I was diagnosed with PCOS and infertility so TTC was a difficult (not to mention emotional) process but I knew I had come to terms with my previous loss and was ready to try again.
