What could this be?

My child has a cold but for some reason she has a loss of appetite. Food that she used to love, She won't touch. The only things she seems to want is juice and diced apples. I'm worried bc I don't like that she isn't eating anywhere near as much as she used to.

Well think about when you have a cold and your nose gets all stuffed up and junk. Food doesn't taste the same. Our pint sized humans undoubtedly go through the same things but just can't verbalize it in the same ways.

It's because she has a cold. There's probably a lot of mucus in her stomach so it's makin her stomach upset and apples probably help soothe it plus they have flavour even when your sick. I'm sick now with bronchitis and upper respiratory infection and I've been throwing up the last two days cuz there's so much mucus in my stomach from over night and I have no appetite cuz I feel like crap and I'm tired and all I do eat is easy food like apple juice which is helpful in easing a sore throat and grapes which are small and don't take a lot of energy to eat. When she starts to feel better her appetite will come back but don't push her to eat things she doesn't want to right now. Her body is telling her what will make her feel okay right now, offer her other things as well when you plan to make her food but don't force her to eat them.

I never want to eat when I'm sick with a cold, food literally has no taste to me. If she's congested that could be it.

It might be that the cold is making her nauseous. Or her sore throat hurts really bad  when she swallows actual food. I remember when I was little and use to get colds the sore throat was the worst feeling I could ever get. I felt I was swallowing a porcupine with out eating anything so just imagine when I ate.

It's normal. It's very good that she is craving juice! So you can get her easily hydrated! Apple slices are although very good to eat while sick. Herbody needs them. Don't worry about that she won't eat any other food: she'll do it after er sickness...

Toddler?  They do that, mine went a week only eating ritz crackers.  Otherwise anyone will go through times, where they are not too hungry.
