How long do you wait?

How long do you/did you/will you wait to allow other people to hold your newborn? I go to church with a family who had their baby 3 weeks ago, they're bringing him to church but they won't let anyone hold him yet. I found this to be weird, but maybe it's normal?? 
What are your thoughts?

I just want to be able to hang around the house with Baby for a while. Get used to having a newborn, lay around without a shirt on for easy boob access, lots of skin to skin time, etc. Just let it be dark and relaxing before we leave the house and expose Baby to the elements.
So, even after 3 weeks, I don't think I'll be back at church yet. I dont want to overwhelm Baby or myself, so I feel like staying in our little nest will be best until going out seems like a viable option again.

It's currently RSV season and my daughter almost died from it, so I don't even take my babies in public until they're six weeks.

Unless it immediate family or close friends it will be a while. Like when they come to the hospital after the baby is born. But if they so much as have a runny nose or scratchy throat they aren't coming anywhere near my baby.

I let people hold my daughter immediately but it can be very dangerous to do. With my twins, I plan to wait at least a month or two. Especially if a sickness is going around. I also want to at least start the vaccinations this time too before letting people touch them.

Unless my baby is born with a weakend immune system or the person holding them has a communicable disease, I will allow friends and family to hold my baby right away.

There are studies that show that babies who live in an over-sanitized environment are at greater risk of infection and disease. Because their bodies have never been in contact with the germs.

It's not weird because the baby hasn't even had shots yet. I didn't want anyone holding my baby until he got his one month shots. I don't have time to worry about people's feelings when it comes to the health of my son.

I won't let anyone outside of family hold them for weeks, family usually right away.

Family and friends can hold my baby in the hospital maybe come visit at home afterwards but only if they are in good health. As for strangers, acquaintances, distant friends or whatever; they can wait 4+ weeks. I'm going to be selfish and want my baby to my SO and myself anyway. I would like my baby to have some shots first.

I ain't voting for any of the above, I think it's wrong for a new born to be passed from pillow to post all because an adult wants a cuddle, it's a human life not an accessorie or ten min human happy!

Immediate family, right away. Other people, a while. Though it sucks because a lot of my family members just invite themselves and HAVE to hold the baby.
