18 DPO should I test??

I don't want to get my hopes up should I test or wait a little longer??

I'm 17 DPO and no AF. I tested yesterday and got a BFN. I'm scared to test so I'll just wait for a couple of more days or so. I'd wait a week after your period to test again that's my plan at least. I'm tired of being disappointed :/
