Why babies?

Question

I'm wondering if any other women question the reason behind having babies. I understand it's lovely to have children & see/feel what it's like to have babies with somebody you love. 
With human emotion aside, what I think about first is that our world is so terribly overpopulated.

Does anybody ever consider other ways that life can be fulfilling aside from children? I'm 27, very well travelled, educated, lots of friends, love my career, family & partner. I feel like without a baby I could have a wonderful life, I really do. Societal expectations & even my own instinct tell me that I should have babies, but logically I know it's just another person that will be living in the pretty competitive & overpopulated world that we have created. I could be happy either way, how about you?

Some want kids, some don't, it's a personal decision for everyone!  End of story!

I never wanted kids or marriage until I met my Husband. My life changed when i met him. We are now expecting our second baby. I couldn't imagine life any other way.

I'm not sure what kind of deeper explanation you're looking for. Possibly because I feel like your logic behind not having babies seems silly to me. I'm not sure where you're from but where I'm from, we're perfectly fine. There's lots of room to expand and keep our families growing. I don't see the world as being some over populated competitive mess. Aside from the "emotions" you gain from creating a family of our very own (which is actually really important to some people) if everyone stopped having babies because they thought the world was over populated, the world would actually be fucked. Humans are evolving creatures. We figure out how to make it work.

Well I have 3 degrees, have travelled to 17 countries (lived overseas 3 times) have a great group of girlfriends that I've known since childhood, AND I'm married to my best friend. I became a mother almost 3 years ago and nothing that I listed above even compares to the depth of that experience. So to answer your question: no.

I think a deeper reason is that this world is very disconnected. The connection of having a child creates a family circle that otherwise may not exist in your life. People who are not family may be friends for years. People who are related are generally in contact for life unless estranged. If I didn't have a family circle already in my life. If all I had was say a SO and that was the extent of my super connected relationships. Then I would want to have children. 
I am content being an aunt. That is enough for me. I don't want to bring children into this world to be mistreated and live a hard life.

Why are you on this app if you're not TTC or pregnant? All I saw when I looked at your page was vegan this, God bashing that and talking about your abortion. Really, are you just that mean? Don't try to take joy from others. This app is for pregnant women and women TTC. It obviously doesn't apply to you. What up?

I have many things that are fulfilling in my life. I dont want kids yet. But when i do i cant wait to give birth to a prince or princess that me and my SO's love created.
