Ovarian cyst rupture? Early period?
Hello,
I'm posting desperately as I'm quite worried about my cycle and body right now.
A week ago, right after sex, I had very severe, sharp abdominal pain and felt nausea, lightheadedness, and chills. I went to the doctor the next day. My blood test, urine test, and X-ray were all normal and I was not pregnant. I did not get an ultrasound, but based on my symptoms and timing in my cycle, my doctor narrowed it down to a ruptured ovarian cyst. I came home to be watchful and to take painkillers if the pain is distracting.
After a couple days of pain and discomfort, things subsided and I was able to go back to my normal lifestyle. There was very light spotting, which I asked my doctor about and she said it is normal if the ruptured cyst is draining.
I didn't think much of it until yesterday when my spotting got a bit heavier and I had minor cramps. Today, I noticed it was still getting heavier and the color a bit redder (from brown). If this is my period, it would be a week early though... My doctor is out of office so my message hasn't gotten through to her yet.
Is it possible that this is my period and nothing else?
I need positive comments please. I am very worried. Thanks.
