I need serious answers.

How can you have a normal period while pregnant because that doesn't even make sense to me. Wouldn't having a period while pregnant results in a miscarriage?

I mean the purpose of a period is to ovulate and shed tissue and blood. So if a woman were to have a normal period while pregnant, would that not result in multiple pregnancies if she is already pregnant.
