It as been a rough night

So today I went to go see my Obgyn and got a pap smear done then I had to get blood work done. Then later that afternoon I started notice I was spotting I was no big deal it was just from my pap. So I try to go to bed. Two hours I wake up to worst cramps ever. I guess I started my period I did not really want to start today. Sorry I just wanted to vent cause I can't sleep. How do guys deal with cramps when they come in the middle of night and you can't go back to bed ?
