I know im an adult but how the heck do i make friends in a new town?!?

My boyfriend and I moved from Michigan to Texas about 8 months ago. He has just a couple family members here and I don't know anyone. Both our jobs are not really options to meet new people. I'm feeling so anti social and crazy! I'm totally a people person but I'm in such a new place I don't even know where to begin. Any one have any advice? Thanks!

You kind of just meet people- maybe go to yoga class or social places and talk to people- you never know! We are the same way- moved from Oregon to Arizona and it has been difficult!

Bars are full of the friendliest people here in Texas lol everyone is just trying to have a good time and they're very open to meeting new people. Just walk up to someone who looks like they're just having a good time and start talking. 9× out of 10 you'll meet your new best friend this way haha

If you have children moms groups and play dates are instant access. You'll find something somewhere. Work, join a hobby , gym , class etc. just introduce yourself. Finding new friends is like dating. You just have to put yourself out there

Join classes and make a friend ask if shed like to go for coffee after. Once you do that like 3 times you can invite her over for food or a movie or something.

Girlfriend social is a website kind of like a dating site but to meet friends in your area.  It's been a lifesaver for me.

Try joining a gym! I've been going to my gym for a while but sticking to myself and now I started going to the classes multiple times a week and starting to be able to chat with people a little bit! I have all my friends through school and after I graduate they'll all move home and I'll be here with just my husband and his family and friends so I'm trying to be proactive :)
