Irregular periods

So I have been irregular since stopping birth control over a year ago...I had a period in March and glow says I should be on day 4 of my cycle...I have been having cramps like I was on a period...my SO are not TTC but not preventing it either...I'm 34 with no children...ok here is my question do I take a home test and if so when...
