Breastfeeding nipples...?

Okay I overheard someone say that there is a plastic piece shaped like the nipple on a bottle that is meant for women to use while breastfeeding to help the baby latch better and can help with the pain as well. Anyone know what they are?

Nipple shield. Used mostly for flat or inverted nipples. If u don't have those problems, I don't recommend using them bc they can decrease stimulation to the breast and therefore decrease milk supply.

Iv tried breastfeeding both my girls abd it didbt even last but a month because it tore them up and the pain eas horrible. I was watching a breastfeeding video on how to get a perfect latch. Oh man was i doing it all wrong. Im really excited to try it again.

I'd say it's more important to know a breastfeeding counselor than have all the equipment. They can then help you get extras if needed. My friend had to have shield, her babies sick so hard, her areola tore!
