Dialated

Im a first time mom. I know everyone is different but Id like some opinions and to hear some people's stories!! So I am 34 weeks 2 days and I was having cramping a sharp pain in my cervix and my back was hurting badly!! She checked my cervix said I was around 1 cm dialated and she could feel his head pressing down and he had dropped down. How long were some of you moms dialated at 1cm for I heard some were a month some were less!! Just want some opinions and to hear some stories thanks :) and now I also have more cramping and braxton hicks after getting checked.
