Dental work during 2nd trimester?

Hi ladies!
Did anyone have dental work done in their second trimester? I am terrified to go but I can't put off this tooth any longer. I just don't want anything to cross to the baby! What are your experiences? Also, is it safe to get numbed?

I did a tooth pull in first tri  2 ND tri is when they recommended I came back for the other work to be done

I had a deep cleaning done with mild anesthesia, they say dental work in 2nd tri is fine. If they are doing injections try to make sure the anesthesia isn't adrenaline based. You doc will prob have to send a release note as well

I am going to have to. I had a crown that came loose and they think infection got underneath before it could be reglued. I am 6w2d today and have a follow up appt Monday. The endodontist told me he wanted to see me every two weeks until I hit the second trimester. If the infection doesn't clear up by then, he will go redo the root canal on that tooth. He and my dentist don't want me to have any work done until at least the second trimester. Hope that helps!!

I had a filling done at 16 weeks because I couldn't wait anymore! I had my OB fax approved mess, etc to my dentist. Novocain and numbing are fine, but you want to avoid epinephrine. You might also want to ask for a couple breaks to sit up, since I got uncomfortable after about 20-30 minutes. Just make sure your dentist knows you're pregnant!
