Diabetes during 3rd trimester and insulin

My sister who is 7 months has very high sugar levels suddenly.She tried to control via diet but it didn't help so now she has been given medicine and insulin. Anyone been through this and can share their experience? I just need assurance if she and her baby will be fine. Also, after pregnancy is it possible for her to kick off diabetes and no longer need insulin or medicine? Please wish for her healthy pregnancy
