When to take an ovulation test?

I've never taken one, this will be my first time taking it. My period ends today.

Any advice would help!

This seems about right. I would advice you to start a dat or two earlier just in case you ovulate early earlier and miss it for the entire cycle. I learnt this lesson the harsh way when using OPKs first time. Those guides are just that, guides, they don't allow for the nuances of every woman's cycle. For example not every woman will ovulate same day even on a 29 day cycle. Such is the complexity of ovulation. I used it from day 13 in my first month as advised by the guide and wondered why I was getting negatives everyday until AF arrived. It was only when I decided to start earlier with the next cycle and got a positive on CD11/12 that I realised what happened with the previous months. I had missed her! Lesson was learnt. Better to ignore the guides and start earlier and catch it than start when told to and miss it as you can NEVER get those days back😣😣. Also, another tip, every month ovulation shifts by a day or two it will never be CD14 every mth for instance. Now I start testing from a day or two after AF finishes just to catch any variation AND to get the test stick used to your urine. It means you use more test sticks unfortunately but on the plus side you get a better picture of your monthly cycle. Depends what matters most to you. Good luck. And baby dust to us all xxx
