What would you do?

Hi I'm a single mom to a beautiful 4 year old girl, I'm currently unemployed and I'm living at my mother's house. I am single but I do however have a sexual partner, we aren't together it's more of a friend's with benefits relationship. Well I'm pregnant for the 2nd time and now I'm a bit confused on what my next step should be. He doesn't know yet and I am planning on telling him tomorrow. As far as the new baby goes, I've never been ok with abortion but I also don't agree with bringing a baby into this world to automatically be struggling. I've also thought of an open adoption but I just don't know how well that would go considering this is my 2nd child. I've always wanted another child but now just doesn't feel like the right time, I would love more than anything to keep this baby. I just don't know if that's the best decision right now especially considering I'm unemployed and living at my mother's. I just would like to know your opinion and what you would do in my shoes. Thank you

In my opinion, happiness is not determined by the amount of money in your bank account.
Babies don't need, nor do I think it is at all beneficial to them to have all the ridiculous things parents buy these days. Babies don't need an extravagant nursery, they don't need hundreds of outfits. Babies don't need a crazy number of toys.
Babies need a couple of cheap outfits (they're going to grow out of them anyway), they need food, which a lot of times the mom can provide naturally for 6-12 months. And lastly they need love and mental stimulation.
Nobody, not even a newborn baby "needs" all of the things society says we need.
If I were in your shoes, I would not abort.

First and foremost, you should tell him as you planned to tomorrow and see where his mind is.
Next, you should have a serious talk with your mom for respect and support.

Realistically, would he step up to the plate?

There are so many things to consider and you know what can arise as you are already a mother.

It may be harder with 2, but it'll be twice the reward 😌 I don't want to sway your decision b/c there's personal things to consider that only you and your family need to discuss, but think evvvvverything through thoroughly. I would even suggest writing down all of the pros and cons of any possible choices you can make.

At the end of the day, it is your body, your life, and ultimately; your decision!

I would say, this decision cannot be made by the women commenting here. They are not going to hold your hand or pay for your expenses or provide anything for you. You need to get a job anyway. Talk to your SO, see if he is willing to help, check your financial status and make a decision which feels right to you.

I know two different families that adopted their niece's/cousin's kid. They have been very open about it too, the kid knows and so does the rest of the family and it seems to work for them. Do you think it would be easier to choose adoption if someone in your family was the one adopting?

Open adoption is a beautiful experience and your baby Would never know the struggles you're going through right now, or be effected by those struggles.
