Cramps

I'm 36+4 and been having period cramps all afternoon, and now have back ache too. It doesn't feel the same as my Braxton Hicks usually do. Had my 36 week check up yesterday, head is engaged and midwife said I have another two weeks, perhaps three. Maybe it's just a result of being prodded and poked yesterday? Not sure if it's worth calling anyone. No signs of labour and it's not painful, just really uncomfortable. What do you think?
