People assume that the only reason to do the tests is so they can abort if there's something 'wrong' with the baby, but a lot of us just like to be prepared. I know I would want to have the extra time to research, maybe find other moms in the area who have children with the same abnormalities, build a support group etc, because it will certainly be different from raising a child without those abnormalities. Not better or worse, just different.

Plus, some abnormalities come with a very limited life span after birth, so I would want to start a photo album as soon as possible to remember baby by whenever it eventually passes if that were the case.

But ultimately, if you aren't someone who needs to be prepared well in advance, there's no need to do the blood tests, especially if you know a positive result would just stress you out for the rest of your pregnancy. Hubby and I were in agreement on our reasons for wanting to do the blood tests, so we did it, but it's definitely something each couple should decide on together.

We did because we want to be able to be prepared for any possibilities. But it will not change how we feel about our baby. ❤️

I said yes to have all the test done just so I can be prepared but still won't change the love I have for my baby and will still have a happy life 😍

Nope I didn't. Why would I? I already lost a baby and I would not ever abort due to the fact the baby had metal problems. I will love my baby no matter what

I did but only because of my advanced maternal age lol...  It wouldnt have mattered either way for us. It was awesome finding out sex of baby at 13 weeks though.

I had a Nuchal Translucency scan & blood test but the Harmony test here supposedly costs around $750. It's not common in Australia as they don't actually test it here, just take your blood & send it to the US for testing. To us it wasn't worth it, when we knew there was little chance of us aborting.

I did the tests only because insurance covered them. And because they came with extra ultrasounds. I got to find out what my daughter was at 16 weeks instead of waiting for 20 weeks or later :) it was worth it. The tests results don't really matter, as long as she is healthy, I'm happy.

I had tests done with my daughter 👼 and am having the testing give with this baby too.  I actually go in about a week and a half for my ultrasound.   Last time they did it by blood test.

I've heard horrible experiences where the parents worried the whole pregnancy. And my husband and I both agreed that we can't do that. So we passed. The doctors then pled that they wanted results so they could be prepared. We again respectfully denied. We just pray our little one is safe and healthy. 
Blood tests are great for parents that want to be prepared and understand that it's % or chance. Parents need to decide on their own.

I took the test again but the outcome didn't change anything..i wanted to have a baby..of course no mother wants to hear there is a possibility but god wont give you anything you cant handle...i didnt do the amino..for any of my pregnancies. .for the risk of losing my lil ones...after all the miscarriages ive had then to put myself in the risk of another just to put my mind at ease knowing that it wouldnt change my feelings no no..not for me..
