How many clothes to buy?

I'm 29 weeks this weekend and I've started shopping but not sure how much to buy for baby in terms of newborn clothes? I know we will get a few outfits as presents from friends and family but we need to get most of it ourselves. How many newborn sleep suits etc are you all buying?

I wouldn't go crazy with newborn since some babies skip that size. I have 6 and I know some people will buy/has bought some but I plan on keeping the tags on almost all of them til after I have the baby. I'll only wash 2 outfits and IF they fit then I'd have my husband wash the rest when we get home. I got more 0-3 sizes just in case.

5 short sleeved onesies, 5 long sleeved onesies. Scratch mitts and hats

I bought mostly plain onesies in newborn and just a few cute outfits because I know when she is that small we probably won't go anywhere much. I have about 15 newborn onesies that is solid colors or came in 3-5 packs. Nothing expensive.
