latex allergy?

so yesterday I was giving my husband oral with a condom and afterwards my throat started feeling itchy and sore. A little later it got harder to drink anything or swallow. Went to the dr because I thought it might be strep. It was negative. i was then thinking if I had an allergic reaction to the latex but I failed to mention the oral with condom. Could that be what it was?
