Should I be mad?

Question

I haven't announced to the world yet about my pregnancy but have recently told our immediate family only. Not even grandparents. 
My boyfriends parents have been telling people they see that were pregnant. Should I be mad about this?  I feel that they should give us time to tell people OUR news.

It would tick me off. However they are probably just excited too. This is why my husband and I announced right away because our families don't keep things to themselves. After we called our parents and grand parents we just announced to everyone on fb. I'm only almost 7 weeks but the way I see it if I (god for bid) did have a MC at least I have support of all my family and friends and don't have to hide my sadness

I shared with family and friends and even social media on the same day to avoid that from happening because I know my husbands family can't keep things to themselves. His grandmother ended up opening her package with the announcement early against my wishes and ruined my surprise for my sister in law before even calling to congratulate me. I called her and scolded her, you dont share other people's news without their permission EVER. Thankfully I got to her before she got to anyone else.

My boyfriends mother has been telling people even though we specifically told her not to tell until we found out the gender. So since she's been running her mouth and not respecting our wishes, we just have to be more careful and nobody will be told the gender early.

Not if you didn't make it known it wasn't to be shared! Grandparents are always exicited and are usually eager to tell people! My grandma told my dad after I told her BUT I didn't make it known I didn't want it shared at the time. Don't be upset just share with them your feelings.

We told close family and friends when we found out and slowly started sharing with more people. My SO has a lifelong friend that he told and the wife and I are friendly and she asked like she didn't know that I was pregnant. It completely threw me for a loop. I asked Jared if he's sure she knew and he sent me a picture of their text. So I told her I had a bone to pick and didn't appreciate being treated stupid. (Nicely of course) but she said she was going no to play dumb until I told her because she didn't want to ruin it for me. But I felt like... You knew. And I knew you knew. Smh to each their own I guess.

I think my sister ended up telling more folks about my baby than I still have. She knows how I feel about sharing the news lersonly but it doesn't change the fact that she's REALLY excited to be a first time auntie.
Have your boyfriend rope them into conversation about it and just clarify you'd like the opportunity to be telling people because you guys want to see first hand reactions, etc. That part of it is special when you're expecting. They'll understand! It's hard to beat that excitement and it's big news to hold in.

I had a close friend announce to her entire family I was expecting when I first found out. Nobody but my bf and 2 or 3 close friends knew. I was very upset as I felt like she shared my news before I had a chance to properly let my and my bfs family know. When I confronted her she said I hadn't told her it was a secret so I shouldn't be mad...technically I guess she was right, but I still was pissed off and thought it was pretty ignorant and disrespectful of her

It was wrong, annoying and not their place BUT it probably didn't come from a bad place. I would hope they aren't the type to desire to steal your thunder and if they aren't then they are probably just ecstatic to be grandparents and aren't thinking clearly about their choices. My husband and I made it VERY clear with both our parents that they were not to share the news with anyone outside of the family. Unless I missed it, I didn't see where this was made explicitly clear to your in laws. If it was then I would suggest expressing your feelings while providing empathy.
