Can a miscarriage cause infertility?

I had a miscarriage when I was 15, it was like blood was pouring out of me and clumps of flesh were coming out. Since then my periods were never normal again, they were always really painful and I would skip months before I'd have another one. The blood was different, thicker somehow. And just now at 18 they are returning to normal and I'm worried that it may have caused me to be infertile because there's many times I should have been pregnant. I mean ALOT and it just won't happen. Could my miscarriage have causes all of this?
