Lupron for endo?

Has anyone had it? Did the pain go away? I am going in for it Tuesday and I'm just undecided about it but I think it's because my SO and I sort of decided to wait three month to TTC and I guess I'm just kind ofdisappointed. Anyways, any thoughts on it?

Don't do it!!! It threw me into menopause, there are plenty of other drugs out there that can help! It's not worth it at all! Ask for the lap surgery that's what helped me, as well as a strong birth control after the surgery! I've been pain free for 5 years! Thank God!

I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS!! My doctor recommended six months of treatment with Lupron after a laproscopy. It ended up being nine months due to my doctor being behind on getting my shots in on time. Anyways, even with the hormone "add back" pill I had AWFUL side effects. Mood swings were off the charts. I had suicidal ideations (let me add that I have never struggled with anything like that in my life) and days I literally couldn't get out of bed from depression. I had hot flashes throughout every night and at least once every hour during the day. Yes, they did control the endo pain and I had no periods but let me tell you something else, definitely my biggest reason to regret this shot: after my last three month shot, I never got a period back and my DH and I were ready to begin TTC. We waited and waited and it never came and the hot flashes continued. It was not until my dr put me on a hormone pill for 10 days that a week later my period came and the hot flashes began to taper off. However, after that my period still was not regular. After a few more months I went in for blood work due to irregular periods and found out I have a huge hormone imbalance and PCOS. I haven't even been ovulating. After doing so much research I truly believe the shot had the major impact on all these horrible outcomes. It may work to control your endo but for me, the risks are NOT worth it, especially if you have any intentions of TTC. I  went from being regulated and fairly healthy (aside from the endo) to a whole new slew of fertility issues that we are still battling. Don't do lupron! For the sake of yourself don't do it! I was on it for 6 months and my endo was way worse then it was before. This drug was created to treat testicle cancer not this!!!!

I had the lap done in aug, got one lupron shot and never went back for the others after reading more about it. Now I'm currently 3 months pregnant and I truly think it's cause of the lap. I say get lap over lupron

I've never had it but I've heard a lot of horror stories about side effects so I decided not to do it after my last surgery.  Please make sure you do a lot of research. Good luck.

I did lupron for 6 months, no other meds with it. I had no issues, but I was definitely not TTC at the time. The pain went away, and stayed away for nearly 3 years. The only bad side effect I had was hot flashes. Everyone is different, I was one of the lucky ones that it worked perfectly for.

I just took the 3 month shot back on Oct 7th. I have to say I feel pretty good, I do get some hot flashes but am on on "take back" for that so it's not unbearable just annoying, I started 500mg of calcium for my bones and I had been on metformin 1000mg before and still take it with a prenatal vitamin. I have stage 4 endometriosis and pcos been suffering for few years. I'm getting married in July 2018 and as soon as we say "I Do" we are hoping to say "we do". I will be 36 at the time and don't want to wait. I have to do the 9 month regimen then after I have to go in for exploratory to clean all the crap out then will start birth control to make me regular and fertile.  I was so freaked out about doing this and waited a yr, but it's the best thing so far. I am also bipolar and I was so afraid it would throw me thru a loop but I  am happier, my school work comes easier I get it, I'm bubbly my moods do come and go but they were worse before, I'm losing weight, my body feels good. I do still have pain in my right lower side but they told me that may stay and will be taken care of at the end of this. I had a horrible period right after I took it and only one small break through bleed but I do recommend this medicine. You have to just know your body make sure you take vitamins and calcium and your take back pill. Eat healthy drink a ton ton ton of water and realize it is creating a war in your belly, and it's winning in the end. I am grateful for this drug and will be even more when after we are married that little stick turns pink. I truly believe it will happen!!! Don't believe just the bad stuff that is written ppl write about bad first before good and I am.guilty of listening to that first. I am a success story!!!

Lupron destroyed my life for 3 months and a year later I'm still dealing with the after effects. It did reduce my lesions and the first month I felt amazing - and then all the side effects ruined me. My liver started struggling, my hair fell out, I had severe depression (contemplated suicide, which I have NEVER considered), insomnia, etc. Doc told me lupron can interfere with your seratonin uptake, which is the hormone that helps you feel happy. I started having panic attacks, as well as health-obsessive thoughts. The bad thing is that it doesn't seem to have returned to normal yet. It may be permanent.

It did work on the endo. It also screwed me up.

I honestly do not know why doctors still recommend this drug, or even why they would prescribe it. It is a horrid drug. Way too many bad risks for it to be worth it. There are plenty of more successful medications out there. I'm sure people on this app will offer you some suggestions. But please, don't use lupron. It's not worth it at all.
