Ovulated without trigger- now progesterone

This month my dr didn't have me come in for ultrasound until cycle day 16, but it turns out this was a little late because he could see on the ultrasound that I was in the process of ovulating. So, he told me to just start my progesterone supplements and hope for a baby. I used 10mg femara and was planning to trigger. Last month I wasn't ready to trigger until cd20. My lining was about 9mm. Is that okay- he seemed happy with it.
