What do you ladies think of delayed cord clamping?

Will you be doing this? How long would you like to wait before cutting the cord? Does it matter in the long run?

My midwife waited until it stopped pulsing. At that point it's ready to be cut.

I'm planning on waiting until it stops pulsing. A new study just proved that immediately clamping the cord is a detriment to the baby. Doctors have to now wait a minimum of 1 minute now before clamping the cord. These few extra minutes to wait actually allow baby to get its full blood supply. DH is on board for kangaroo care when baby is born.

I'll be doing it this time around.  A lot of benefits for baby, so I told my midwife it's what I wanted. 😊😊

We will wait until it stops, we are currently debating on a lotus birth, but my midwife has suggested eating the placenta so we are exploring our options.

My doctor told me that with the delayed cord clamping, if your baby is jaundiced, it could make it worse. Since both my children were born jaundiced, I'm actually choosing to not delay cord clamping.

We are waiting a minimum of 5 minutes to cut and anytime after that.

We did it last time and will again, my hospital suggests it. I think we waited 30 mins. The goal is to have the cord stop pulsing.
