This sounds almost exactly like how my last fwb situation was. The only difference was he didn't pay me for sex - we just romped it up whenever.

He got too attached, so we decided on just a normal friendship. But the all paid for traveling expenses to see him, the expensive restaurants, the dates and occasional gifts were very welcome :)

If he would have offered to pay me for the sex though, I woulda felt like he was my sugar daddy and I wouldn't have felt as comfortable in our relationship. We were fwb before he got his awesome money-grabbing job and I wouldn't have wanted it to turn in to something like that.
