Domestic abuse

Me and my partner have been together a year. When he's nice he's the most loveliest person ever, and I love him loads, but when he's angry (he's got anger problems) he scares me, he threatens me a lot, shouts, calls me names, and threatens to beat me and smash my house up. He's gone to hit me once and I ducked and he hit the wall. He's meant to be getting arrested in 3 hours but I'm regretting it because 1. Im scared of what people will do and 2. I feel sorry for him because I do love him. Do I carry on and get him arrested? Or if I'm doubting it, then stop it all?
