Is bbt useless? No such thing as short LP?

Question

Just back from seeing a GP because we've been trying for 12 months with no luck. 
I took my bbt charts and she didn't even look at them and said bbt is useless. 
She also told me it's impossible that I'm averaging an 11 day luteal phase because it is always 14 days. 
Thoughts?
P.S. I was referred to a specialist anyway, but wanted to see your thoughts :)

The fact she says it's always 14 days make me wonder if she is a even a doctor ask if us that have charted used opk's etc know that's just wrong see another doctor

I'd understand if she said bbt doesn't help with timing, because you don't know until after. But she was saying there is no link between a temperature increase and ovulation. I said that the temperature rises have matched up with my positive ovulation tests, but she said 'ignore all of that, they are wrong.'

I disagree. However bbt can be useless if you are not simultaneously tracking with OPKs.
