3.5 weeks pregnant - ovary pain ??

Question

Anybody have or know about a dull ache on (left) ovary? I am only 3.5 weeks pregnant. Got a positive test yesterday. My doctors office is closed today. Thank you!

Believe it or not you can carry a baby with just one ovary in your body. I know a person that carried 3 babies with only one ovary. How amazing is that!

At the start of pregnancy you form a cyst on the ovary that you ovulated from, it's called corpus luteum.  That cyst is responsible for all of the pregnancy hormone production.  Once the placenta forms, it will take over hormone production and the cyst will clear up.  When you go in for your first ultrasound, if you pay attention, you'll see them check for it, it's pretty big!

I had that for a few weeks. I had an ultrasound at 8 weeks last Monday and everything was fine. That pain has stopped in the last couple of weeks. Nothing to worry about unless it's really bad or you're bleeding a lot.

I had a bruised ovary from where the egg decended. I'm 11 weeks now and I still get the occasional twinge. I had my ovaries checked for cysts at my 6 week ultrasound and all was fine.
