Femara vs clomid?

I get to make this decision next month .. The 100mg clomid didn't work for me this month so I can either higher the dosage or switch to femara.. Also y does it look like femaras side effects r worst then clomids? Which have u had success with?

From research and my friend who is a obgyn she said 100 to 150mg on clomid does not have a huge benefit. I would try femera if it was me..

I did two rounds of Clomid, up to 150mg, with awful
side effects and no pregnancies. I've done three rounds of Femara with two pregnancies. One miscarriage, and one going strong at 25 weeks. Femara had no side effects on me except for a headache, and no side effects on baby as it's actually out of your system faster than Clomid and can not affect the baby. It was a much better choice for me; you just have to find what works best for you!

I had horrible side effects with high doses of clomid and it never worked two cycles in a row. Had to increase doses every other cycle. Femara didn't give me any side effects other than the typical moodiness.

I've conceived 2x on chlomid. Currently doing IUI with chlomid. I've asked my doc if she thought another med would be better for me. She said the chlomid is working & doing what it is supposed to do. She also said chlomid has been around longer so we know more about it's safety, risks & outcomes. Made sense to me! I think it's between you & your doc. But I'd start with chlomid since it's been around longer & we know more about it. If my doc gave me a choice. Hth! Hope you get a BFP soon!!

I have PCOS and did two cycles of Clomid with no ovulation.  First did 50mg and then we upped it to 100mg. After no ovulation my doctor switched me to Femara. I was nervous because I haven't heard as much about this drug. My follicle scan said I had 3 10 mg size follicles and that I would likely ovulate this time.  I just took a OPK and got a smilie face!! So it could happen this month! Yay!!!

I took Femara for 5 cycles. It gave me headaches, mood swings, night sweats, my hair fell out in clumps, and I gained weight. I took Clomid for two cycles and didn't feel any side effects. Everyone is different. Good luck!
