Is it ok for your husband and father of your kids to go to a bachelor party?

My husband is 30, and I'm 23. We have a 2 year old, and 2 huge dogs. I have a gastrointestinal disease that keeps me pretty weak due to malnutrition, so I need help with stuff sometimes, but I don't whine. However, my husband works 6 days a week (by choice, he's on salary for 40 hour work weeks) and we rarely see him. Never been on vacation. Haven't been on dates since married. Is it silly I'm upset he will be gone for two days at a bachelor party?

Honestly I can see your point, you barely get to see him, let alone time with just you and him.
But at the same time, from what your saying, he works extremely hard.

So this is something maybe you should admit to him. I wouldn't be too upset with him, but I would suggest y'all getting time together too.

The bachelor party itself wouldn't upset me so much (depending on who's it is/what they were doing) as the fact that he doesn't spend time with the family and you have never been on vacation, but he has time to go to this. My husband has had a lot of good friends get married over the years so while I don't like bachelor parties I've had to suck it up and deal with him going to them. (I've also been to a lot of bachelorette parties but it just isn't the same). If he didn't spend any time with our family but had time for his friends I would be upset. Have you talked to him about how it upsets you that he works so much and doesn't spend time with you?

My husband and I were the first of our friends to get married. We've been married for 10 months and are TTC #1, but this summer we have friends getting married. My husband is a groomsman and went to the bachelor party in Atlantic city in April and I'm going to the bachelorette party next weekend. I also had 3 married people at my bachelorette party, my sister and two sisters in law, one of whom has two children.

I don't see a problem with married people going to these things. I do however understand the frustration with the fact that you say you don't see him often because he works so much. I honestly think though that those are two totally separate issues and maybe you need to sit down and talk about how much he works, especially if he doesn't get paid to work 6 days a week...

I would say yes you have the right to be upset that he's scheduled the time for this and not any time for your relationship.

But I wouldn't be upset about him going on a bachelor party, just due to the fact that that's what happens when his friends get married...it's kinda just what happens. Just let him know his boundaries and what you are not ok with him doing...I.e if they are going to have strippers is he allowed to touch haha :)
