Dating my best friend?

So over the summer my best friend told me he loves me and I was so overwhelmed but I actually liked him too! Like we been friends for about 6 years and I do love him and all and we talked and flirted like a couple but soon after I started to feel uncomfortable bc he was like my brother... So I stopped talking to him (asshole move Ik) but months went by and he dated this other girl etc and then they broke up and he and I remained friends again. A couple months later we started to flirt and like each other again but I was still talking to this other guy ! And I know my best friend still likes me but idk what to do bc I really like the other guy I'm talking to and I don't want to Ruin my relationship with my best friend even tho we've already made out a few times ...idk I really like this other guy like soooo much and he likes me back!! What do I do

I literally just went through the same thing like a week ago and him and I did date for a little but he had surgery today on his elbow and he's really stressed out about it and everything that is to come after it so he said that we should wait to become a couple. but anyway I would say yes go for the relationship if you're best friends it shouldn't mess anything up. my friend and I are still talking like normal and I still like him even after him wanting to pause but it shouldn't affect anything if I doesn't work out. and if you're worried that it will tell him that you don't want to mess up you're relationship if it happens to turn out bad

This time around last year I was dating my best friend. He has been my best friend for 6 years now and even though our relationship only lasted 4 months it was amazing and beautiful and I was never so happy. Until we reealized how hard it was to break routine from being just best friends to lovers. 
Dating your best friend is a tricky thing, and I wish we hadn't broken up. But I went through 2 very long relationships before admitting to the love I really felt for him and when he finally made the move it seemed too late for a relationship to work and so it failed. Of course diving into our (secret) relationship we were afraid of putting our friendship at risk.  
I wish it hadn't taken us so long to get together , I think things would be very different now if that had happened. It was easier for my to date other guys before we dated, now almost a year since dating it breaks my heart to see him flirt with another close friend of ours but I have to let him go. I wish you both the best.

Well with your best friend its already a little awkward probably and your still friends. I wouldn't worry too much about that. 
You just need to figure out who you really actually like. Take a break from both and see who you really want to spend time with. 
With your best friend you guys like being together which means that after all the infatuation you will still like being together. Some people break up after they aren't in the first stages of love. I think your best friend is a good choice.
