Getting pregnant while breastfeeding?

My husband and I have been trying for 10 months to get pregnant with our 2nd. We have a 15 month old daughter who still breastfeeds. I was wondering what others have experience while TTC while breastfeeding.

I breast fed with my daughter and I was pregnant with my son and they are 14 months apart yes you can definitely get pregnant while breastfeeding cuz your when you are breastfeeding your brain is producing more hormones to your ovaries so you will ovulate more than used to that's how I got pregnant again twins😉

Your body release a hormone to help with lactation while breast feeding. That hormone blocks ovulation from occuring. So yes, breast feeding does damper your chances of conceiving.  Now that doesnt mean that its impossible. Women can still get pregnant while breastfeeding, it's just not as likely

My sister breast fed for 7 months never got a period and never got pregnant a month after stopping breastfeeding her period returned and she got pregnant the following month id say in her case breastfeeding was a form of birth control. I breast fed for a year but had regular periods starting at 6 wks pp. I had protected sex as I didnt want to concieve at the time.. some of my friends swear you cant get pregnant while nursing but I say you can.
