Why is it that your odds are higher the day before you ovulate? I'm a little lost

Answer

Once your ovaries release an egg for ovulation, the egg only stays alive for about 12 hours (varies from woman to woman). So if you have sex before you ovulate, your SO's sperm is already there when the egg drops. Sperm can stay alive longer than an egg can as long as its a "hospitable environment". So the best time to have sex is the 2 days before you ovulate when you are most fertile
